Kate the Fashion Plate

I would not characterize myself as a "royal watcher." During Princess Diana's lifetime, I admired her style and grace. When I traveled to London, I had the opportunity to visit her childhood home and view the exhibition of her life and fashion. It was amazing to see the gowns and plain clothing that she wore.

Her daughter-in-law, Kate, has managed to do the same thing she did--capture our hearts. Kate has also achieved fashion plate status. Each piece of clothing worn and identified sells out online, now, within a matter of seconds. Incredible! It's so incredible that I have begun to look for details on her outfits, mainly to see the price tag. I must admit, she's definitely a savvy shopper.

As she departed for Canada, I saw the photo taken and began to google the details. Once I found them, I looked up the designer, Smythe Les Vestes. I was so proud that I found the deets before the nightly news. It was a chance to score the 1-button jacket before it sold out. I absolutely loved the tailored fit and the ultra-modern back. It was so me! Sadly, I decided against it. I convinced myself that I'd get more wear out of the L.K. Bennett shoes instead.

You can bet that I will continue to watch, with eager anticipation, what Catherine wears on her North American tour. I know it will be a classic with a modernly chic twist and it will possibly be on sale.
