Something Old is Your Something New

on January 13, 2011

I remember when I was planning my wedding. There were certain things that I knew I wanted to spend lots of money on and others that I felt weren't so important. For instance, the cake had to be "to die for" because most people end up talking about your food and cake once everything is over. It's the thing that makes for a great "party" if you will. I also knew that I wanted to eat my cake later on!

One thing I knew I didn't want to do was spend a lot of money on a dress. I scoured the net looking at different styles. Ultimately, I knew what I wanted, old Hollywood glamour, but at the right price. It just seemed ridiculous to pay $10,000 for a dress that I would only wear for 20 minutes and if I ever had children, they would not want to wear it or couldn't wear it.

Turn the clock five years and you've got a wonderful site called Once Wed. I absolutely love this site! Brides and dress shops can sell their gowns for reasonable prices. I found this chic Vera Wang short dress listed at $500.00! It was listed as unaltered (big plus) and was a sample from a shop who professionally cleaned it! Can you say perfect reception dress! The Romona Keveza dress (love her) is listed at $400.00, silk and unaltered as well. The last dream by Pronovias is listed at $800.00, brand-new and never worn with no alterations. Ladies, these are some real deals and remember vintage is in!

If you're still on the hunt for a dress, we suggest you try Once Wed. You can search for your find by designer, size, condition, and price. I'm pretty sure that you can look like you spent a fortune at the drop of a dime!

Happy Dress Hunting!
