Well, I hope each of you enjoyed your Easter holiday and the few days off. This year, I forgot about one activity on my 2009 agenda--the White House Easter Egg Roll! I know, you're probably laughing incredibly loud right now. The fact is, I wanted to take the smaller children in the family because they would remember the Easter Bunny!

So many people took their children to D.C. for the inauguration, and believe me, I wanted to go with each and every one of them. However, I remembered the egg roll! What a time to really get to see the first family--up close and in person! It would be a better view than the inauguration and one of them might actually get to speak to President Obama or Mrs. Obama! (giggles)

Well, it came and it went and 30,000 attended what looked to be a frolicking good time! I'm so sad that we missed out on the first Obama egg roll but there's always next year! I've consoled myself by purchasing an appropriate memento from the occasion--an egg!

You can purchase a commemorative egg made of wood from sustainably managed forests, and according to the official White House website, with the signatures of the President and First Lady! (giggles) You can choose from 4 different colors at $7.00 each or order a set of 4 for $25.00 plus shipping costs. To view and order yours, visit the National Parks website.
